WHAT IS IT? The length, in feet, of the arboretum trails at the OPPD Arboretum.
The Arboretum is a popular slice of nature in the middle of Omaha. Each year, nearly 25,000 visitors come to learn about electrical safety, vegetation-management practices and proper tree-planting around power lines. It is also one of the Omaha metro area’s most popular spots for photographers.
Plus, the 1.5 miles of trails are a great way to get some exercise while enjoying the great outdoors.
Jason Kuiper joined OPPD as a communications specialist in 2015. He is a former staff writer and reporter at the Omaha World-Herald, where he covered a wide range of topics but spent the majority of his career covering crime. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha and has also appeared in several true crime documentary shows.
