WHAT IS IT? The length of the Midwest Transmission Project (MTP). The MTP is the new 180-mile 345-kilavolt transmission line from Nebraska City to Kansas City. It involved years of work across all departments of OPPD and a first-time partnership with Kansas City Power & Light (KCP&L).
The project took seven years to complete, getting energized in late 2016 and resulted in $3 million in economic impacts to those communities in southeast Nebraska where the construction was done.
