OPPD employees spread the pollinator seed plugs at the utility's arboretum in Omaha.

WHAT IS IT? The number of pollinator seed plugs planted in May at the OPPD Arboretum.

The plugs, which consist of native grasses and flowers, were planted to create a pollinator garden. It is part of a new partnership with the Nebraska chapter of the Save Our Monarchs Foundation in which OPPD is creating several “prairies in progress.”

OPPD and other utilities are working to help develop habitat to help the monarch butterfly and other pollinating species who have lost much of their natural habitat.
