Monday’s record-setting rain didn’t keep OPPD crews from restoring power.

At its height, the storm left more than 16,000 without power. Crews worked throughout the day in torrential rain to bring those customers back on.

The Monday morning storms impacted customers mainly in Douglas County, but some in neighboring Sarpy, Washington, Pottawattamie counties, and elsewhere, were also impacted. According to the National Weather Service, Omaha Eppley Airfield reported 6.8 inches of rain by 10 a.m.
