Restoring a customer’s power

When severe weather causes tree damage, it often means individual power restoration to customers’ homes. In the July 2021 storm, this was widespread in OPPD’s service territory, especially in areas with large, older growth trees.

The process to restore service to a home is time intensive and must be conducted precisely to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

This infographic shows you how OPPD restores service to an individual home. In this case, a large tree had pulled down the lines providing the customer’s home with electricity.
