If you’re in the market for an electric vehicle, here’s some good news: OPPD’s popular EV rebates program is back.
Rebates are available toward the purchase of both a residential EV and charger, as well as for fleet vehicle replacement. The rebate program has proven popular and has sold out each year.
Rebate funding was made available to OPPD as of July 1, 2021, and customers who purchase a new EV and charger after July 1 may be eligible.
“Funds are available until they are depleted, so if you are thinking about buying an EV, now is the time,” said Tricia McKnight, a product specialist at OPPD.
The rebates are provided through a grant partnership with the Nebraska Environmental Trust and the Nebraska Community Energy Alliance.
As in previous years, rebates are available for residential customers who purchase a new, all-electric vehicle:
Rebates are available for business customers who replace a current fleet vehicle with a new all-electric vehicle.
EV fleet rebates are rare in the national market, and OPPD is leading the way by making these rebates available to business customers.
OPPD’s new EV education page has a host of other EV topics. The cost comparison tool can help you determine whether an EV is right for you. The interactive public charging map shows you where you can charge while you’re out and about.
“As your energy partner,” McKnight said, “OPPD is striving to be a reliable source of information on electric vehicles so our customers can make confident choices when educating themselves or purchasing an EV.”
