WHAT IS IT?

In the United States, 2,000 public power utilities provide reliable, low-cost power to 48 million customers. That’s 1 in 7 Americans served by public power.

Public power brings a number of other important benefits to customer-owners, including public accountability, decision-making at the local level, and investment in infrastructure. Public power utilities have no stockholders.

To find out more about Nebraska public power utilities, visit the Nebraska Power Association. Nebraska is unique. It is the only state whose residents are served entirely by public power utilities.
