Omaha Public Power District is expanding its Customer Protection Programs beyond the current Electrical Line Protection Plus program, offering residential customers more options to help protect the essential systems, appliances and electronic devices they rely on every day.

The programs include a variety of optional service plans that can help mitigate the cost of unexpected repairs involving electrical systems, water heaters, heating and cooling equipment, and other appliances and electronics.

“At OPPD, we’re always looking for ways to support our customers and help them feel confident about the systems that use electricity to keep their homes running,” said Britton Gabel,  manager of Advocacy Solutions.

The programs are offered through HomeServe USA Repair Management Corp., an independent provider of home repair service plans.

The expanded customer protection programs include several options, among them:

  • Water Heater Repair and Replacement: This service provides coverage for eligible wear-and-tear repairs to water heaters, including gas, electric and tankless units.
  • Heating and Cooling System Plus: This covers central forced-air air conditioning and furnace, including combined annual system tune-up.

Customers can explore several other available plans covering important household systems and eligible home appliances.

To learn more about available plans, costs, coverage details, exclusions and eligibility requirements, visit OPPD.com/GetProtection.

“These new home protection programs offer convenient, optional coverage,” Gabel said. “They can ease the burden of unexpected repairs and give customers greater peace of mind.”

Enrollment in the programs is optional, and customers can review coverage options before deciding which plans are right for them.

The cost of each plan is added directly to the customer’s monthly OPPD bill. That eliminates the need for a separate monthly payment.
